Sometimes when I make up a tune in my mind, I shape it into a song. I write the melody and put down a base to write my lyrics. Whatever the words are I hear in my imagination I usually throw them in. I use both software and real instruments to record the instrumental part, then I sing the vocals and mix it all into a song.
